STAGE 4 - RESCUE WATER CRAFT PROGRAM

This Stage 4 course is designed to provide an intermediate level of Rescue Water Craft operations. The skills provided in this course train operators to a variety of response and underway skills. This course includes stages 1, 2, and 3, instructor lecture, video review, and presentations.  Students in this course will be participating as role players during skillsets. Students will be evaluated on operational skills for one to four persons on board.

This stage is a skill based tier layered training, preventative vessel maintenance, technical boat handling skills, loading and launching covered, survivor recovery. Students will be proficient with the 13 standard criterion skills sets. This course offers an optional night operations segment. Safety Plan is in effect with all training modules

*Pre-requisite applies:  NASBLA or Equivalent Basic Boating Certificate

*All course fees are set for a minimum of 6 students per course to host, if the minimum is not met the course will be cancelled, postponed or the full fee will be applied. Water conditions for training are dependent on weather, site location and seasonal environment.

This course is open to public safety agency personnel who use Rescue Water Craft for water safety, SAR or general duties; such as law enforcement, fire rescue, lifeguard, volunteer services of the general qualifying public.

Certificate stream of specialist applications of performance of the principles, standards and risks as applied to the course modules, goals and tasks. The fourth level of student development. The fourth Level of Instructor Development. Focuses include basic workplace safety, simple response protocols. Content applying the risk management, task analysis, situational awareness, planning, hazard awareness and avoidance and personal survival. Compound workplace safety functions and compound (multiple) rescue responses; understanding the personal, equipment and protocol limits, and performing complex (multiple level) rescue responses in Low, Moderate, High and Severe risk environments.
