Stage 3 Technical Level 

STAGE 3 - RESCUE WATER CRAFT PROGRAM

This Stage 3 course is designed as an operational introduction Rescue Water Craft use as a baseline for operational status and competency.  This course includes Stages 1 & 2, instructor lecture, video review, and presentations.  This is an operational minimum standard for RWC use and complimentary accessories. This stage is a skill based tier layered training.  

Students in this course will be participating as role players during skillsets. Students will be evaluated on 10 criterion operational skills. Basic vessel maintenance, loading and launching covered, survivor recovery. Students will be proficient with the standard skills for one to three persons on board. Safety Plan is in effect with all training modules

Open Water Course

3 day, 28 Hour Course
*Pre-requisite applies:  NASBLA or Equivalent Basic Boating Certificate

Minimum Age: 18 years of age

*All course fees are set for a minimum of 6 students per course to host, if the minimum is not met the course will be cancelled, postponed or the full fee will be applied. Water conditions for training are dependent on weather, site location and seasonal environment.

This course is open to public safety agency personnel who use Rescue Water Craft for water safety, SAR or general duties; such as law enforcement, fire rescue, lifeguard, volunteer services of the general qualifying public.

The third Level of instructor development. Focuses include basic workplace safety, simple response protocols. Content applying risk management, task analysis, situational awareness, planning, hazard awareness and avoidance and personal survival. Compound workplace safety functions and Low, Moderate and High risk, compound (multiple) rescue responses
